Abigail Roberts: 1st officer on the Exorbitant
Alex: The primary AI for the Russian battleship Tsarevich. Certification number: RUA:555:kf127:734:844:817.
Ariel Harel: Nickname: Ari. Born on August 15th, 2184, to Shirley Harel and Oliver Bellett, both exoarcheologists, in space colony 7378 on a planet in Vega System. In November 2189, Shirley and Oliver, with their only child, moved from 7378 to research another archeological site in the Kappa Phenicis star system. The family lived there in a tiny colony of about 300 people. Ariel, then only five years old, had no companions of his age. Therefore, he mostly interacted with adults and a few children much older than him.
On November 15th, 2196, both of his parents went missing. Ariel moved to Earth four months later to live with his grandmother, Maya. Ariel arrives at his new home in a small town between Bath and Bristol on March 18th, 2197. The name of the town where he now lives is Saltford. A couple of weeks later, on April 10th, Ariel first meets Jesse, who becomes his best friend.
On August 20th, 2197, Jesse drowns. At the end of September, Maya and Ariel move to live in Boulogne-Sur-Mer, a French coastal town. Maya rents a flat there.
On December 4th, 2197, Cedric is bought.
Oliver Baxter: Leutenant on the USS Exorbitant. He is the leader of the team of two (the other is ensign Sanders) who accompanies Maya to White City to get the antidote for Hannah. Later, he follows Ariel, Rachel, and Eitan to the North.
Cedric: an AI. Nickname: Ced. Certification number UK2:784:sc320:002:969:453. It was initially programmed and educated in 2075. This was before the Robot War when there were no restrictions on robot technology and Artificial Intelligence. Cedric has had other appearances before, but since December 4th, 2197, when Maya buys it for Ariel, his hologram looks like a young boy with blond hair and a slightly turned-up nose. He is 2 inches shorter than Ariel, and this size ratio—being programmed into the root level—remains so two years later as well.
Cedric is arrogant and doesn’t think highly of humans.
Dovel: An Ephrahudi, the shipbuilder guild leader.
Eitan Gelbman: brother of Rachel Gelbman and son of Hannah Gelbman and Joseph Gelbman. Eitan was born on Dec. 7th, 2186.
Faroon: Assarderian colonel. He is the leader of the port fortification, standing on the riverbank on the way to Betshila.
Gemitep: Assarderian chief commander. Sturdy and robust, rectangle face. Nearly a foot taller than Ariel. 50 years old. Has a five-inch reddish scar on his right cheek.
Hannah Gelbman: mother of Rachel and Eitan. Her spouse is Joseph Gelbman.
Jesse: Ariel’s friend who drowned in 2197.
Joseph Gelbman: father of Eitan Gelbman and Rachel Gelbman. His wife is Hannah Gelbman.
Kazeep: A rower at an Assarderian warship. Member of Pink Pocket Brotherhood. Has a needle-sized dagger pierced through his left ear.
Kelev: Gelbman’s family dog. A Labrador Retriever, male, born in 2196.
Maroop: The leader in Alyk Irulak, the town on Middle Island.
Maya Harel: Ariel’s grandmother and Shirley Harel’s mother. She was born on February 22nd, 2140. She is a doctor (exoparasitologist) and works at a London hospital. She has brown eyes and dark brown hair. She is an intuitive, kind, and helpful person.
Mimi: The onboard AI of the Princess Mimi (original name: Nisicha Mimi). The owners of the space yacht have given Mimi’s hologram the appearance of an old witch.
Noritaka Lee: Senior software engineer of the USS Exorbitant.
Ophrit: An Ephrahudian teenage boy, one year younger than Ariel. Tavitai is his father. He also has a six-year-old sister.
Profesek: A wealthy merchant who lives on Middle Island. His huge house is in the northern part of the island.
Ptoleep XIII: The Emperor of Assarderia. Short round man with soft little hands that, according to Gemitep, have never held a sword. Likes to wear perfume for magical protection.
Rachel Gelbman: The sister of Eitan Gelbman and the daughter of Hannah Gelbman and Joseph Gelbman. Her nickname: Ellie. Rachel was born on February 25th, 2185.
She likes open nature, and riding on horseback. Rachel is creative, self-confident, and extrovert. She is helpful to others. Rachel dislikes restrictions, solitude, and boredom.
Tavitai: A doctor, one of the best in White City.
Walker: James Damian Walker is the captain of the USS Exorbitant.
